Elephant Nature Park, a progressive conservation project in Thailand.

Lek Chailert founded the Elephant Nature Park, which rescues elephants from illegal logging and street begging activities. Visitors are encouraged to learn about the elephants, washing and feeding them but not riding on them, which elephant conservationists discourage. The project trains mahouts to work with elephants without using a billhook or spike. The Elephant Nature Park is leading a change in attitude towards elephant conservation by increasing awareness of responsible conservation strategies.
