Seven year-old Lubina was playing with friends when the earthquake struck. She was buried beneath falling rubble, sustaining critical injuries to her legs and pelvis. Discovered by a team from the NGO 'Splash' during an earthquake assessment visit to a school in Kathmandu, medical aid was organised and Lubina received emergency medical treatment from the Mercy Malaysia NGO and then from the staff at the Sushma Koirala Memorial Hospital and was able to make a full recovery.
