  • Even though Wang, who had polio, cannot easily visit his customers, they bring electrical items to his shop for repair. The shop was donated by the local Disabled Persons' Federation. Wang's son is studying at university on a  scholarship provided by the DPF.

  • Li lost both of his arms in an industrial accident. Support from the Disabled Persons' Federation allowed him to open a shop, not only providing practical support but also helping him to integrate into the local community.

  • A community based rehabilitation programme has helped Li learn how to order stock, using a pen in his mouth or between his toes to operate a computer.

  • Li has recently married. He and his wife have a daughter, who receives extra tuition from a CBR field worker. The family now run a successful business in Kunming, China.

  • Wang suffers from disabilities caused by polio but is able to run a successful repair shop and retains mobility courtesy of a three-wheeled chair provided by the local Disabled persons' Federation.
